Alex Goodwin recognised for his hard work on his Casting Technology Diploma

Joseph & Jesse Siddons employee Alex Goodwin received recognition for his hard work on Dudley College’s Casting Technology Diploma last week. He is pictured here receiving his award from Peter Waterman at the ICME event.

Alex has been spending one day a week at Dudley College working towards a level 3 diploma in Casting Technology. This course has been developed in partnership with the Institute of Cast Metal Engineers (ICME) to educate and train the next generation of foundry engineers and ensure the industry retains the necessary skill base for the future. Covering a wide range of topics including sand moulding, core making, patternmaking, investment casting, die casting, post cast operations and metallurgical testing the qualification is currently the only one of its type available in the UK.
