Our new melting facility in the UK is nearing completion, marking a major milestone in our ongoing foundry modernisation programme. Despite a short delay caused by the pandemic, construction of the purpose-built 650 m² metal casting facility began in January and is progressing well.
The new facility will house advanced 2‑tonne and 1‑tonne medium-frequency induction furnaces, designed to significantly increase foundry melting capacity and improve overall production efficiency. These modern induction furnaces will provide enhanced metallurgical control, greater operational flexibility, and more consistent casting quality.
Once operational, the upgraded melting facility will deliver:
- Increased metal casting output
- Improved foundry productivity
- Enhanced process control and efficiency
- Greater flexibility in production scheduling
The building is scheduled for completion at the end of June, with the induction furnace installation and mechanised charging system set to be commissioned by early August.
Foundry Modernisation and Investment Programme
This project represents the second phase of our long-term investment in foundry automation and production capability. In the previous year, we successfully introduced several key upgrades, including:
- A new hanger shot blast machine
- Advanced robotic grinding equipment
Further improvements planned for this summer include:
- Upgrades to the moulding line
- Lengthening and mechanisation of casting tracks
- Full integration of the new melting facility
